We welcome early-career researchers and policy and practice professionals who want to use behavioral science to advance climate action.
The 20-person cohort will bring together graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, advanced master’s students, policymakers, organizational leaders, and advocacy professionals. Participants will contribute different forms of expertise and learn through sustained collaboration.
The Behavioral Challenge Lab
The core of the Princeton Winter School experience is the Behavioral Challenge Lab. In your application, you are invited to propose a specific climate-action hurdle from your current work or community. We look for challenges where a clear behavioral shift—such as increasing household energy efficiency or driving sustainable travel adoption—could lead to measurable impact. These real-world problems serve as the foundation for our collaborative sessions. From the submitted proposals, five will be selected for intensive development. Working in small, interdisciplinary teams, participants will spend the week deconstructing these hurdles and designing evidence-based interventions that bridge the gap between behavioral research and practical climate action.

Participation expectations
The program is designed as a cumulative, five-day experience. Participants should plan to attend the full week and contribute actively to lectures, discussions, group work, and the final presentations.
